I picked this book because the setting was in the western time. The book is about a eighteen year old boy named thomas johnson he wants to become a sergeon and is going around california with his professor. But his professor has a problem with a group of bandits that he owes alot of money to. Thomas becomes part of the problem after saving his professors life after killing one of the bandits. He later finds out that his professor is missing while a overnight camp out.
